Dalmatia’s trendiest destination Hvar is Croatia’s sunniest island with more than 300 sunny days a year.

Due to its exceptional location in the center of main nautical pathways Hvar has more than 3000 years of rich history. The constant conflicts for dominance between different conquerors confirm the significance and the value of this region from ancient times.

In 1420, Hvar was conquered by the Venetians who selected the city of Hvar as the main port for their maritime projects. The city and its port was well protected by the walls and the fortress above it. Venetians governed the city until 1797, it was a period of cultural development for Hvar. After the civic theatre was founded in 1612, first such in Europe, culture and the cultural expression flourished in Hvar.

The port of Hvar is surrounded by a natural bay, with series of islands called Pakleni protecting it from the south, so it’s safe for boats all year round.
