KOTOR
The old port of Kotor is surrounded by forts built during the Venetian period and it is located in the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most beautiful sceneries in the Adriatic Sea. Some call it the southern fjord, but it is a submerged river canyon, Ria. Together with the nearby limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive landscape hard to forget.
The fortified city of Kotor is also added to UNESCO World Heritage Site list as a part of Venetian Works of Defence between 15th and 17th centuries. It hides numerous sights, such as the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon in the old town (built in 1166), and the ancient walls that stretch 4.5 km (3 mil) along the city.
Sveti Đorđe and Gospa od Škrpijela are the islets off the coast of Perast and among tourist destinations in the vicinity of Kotor.

- Kotor has a large population of cats that have become the symbol of the city.
- Kotor hosts several summer events, such as the Summer Carnival or Bokeljska Noć.
- Montenegro is not part of European union but they use euro as national currency.
- Crossing the Montenegro border can take 5 minutes or 3 hours, depending the crowds.
- If you climb city fortress on the hill, bring water with you as it is expensive there 😉
