PLITVICE LAKES

Plitvice Lakes are the most famous national park in Europe and one of the most beautiful places on the Earth. Plitvice Lakes consist of 16 lakes in a cascade manner, connected by waterfalls, while a kilometer long network of wooden bridges and paths enables a close contact between visitors and waterfalls and lakes.

Great diversity and variety of natural shapes have led to the fact that the National park the Plitvice lakes has been added to UNESCO World heritage list.

Plitvice lakes tell a beautiful story – its colours, sounds, odors and the murmur of the waterfalls change as the seasons do. True nature lovers say that you haven’t seen Plitvice if you haven’t visited it during all four seasons.

Good to Know

  • It is not allowed to swim in Plitvice lakes.
  • Average morning temperature during summer days is 9 °C, while the afternoon temperature is 24 °C , recommended to bring a jacket/warm sweater and an umbrella/raincoat.
  • For those with adventure spirit there is the Korana River for many activities.
  • You can take a cruise on the clear waters of the lower lakes in an electric boat.
  • You need items such as comfortable walking shoes, sportswear, snacks, water and most definitely a camera to take some amazing photos.
