MLJET
Mljet is an island with crystal clear sea, rich Mediterranean vegetation, an undersea world and pebble coves – an inexhaustible source of beauty.
National park of Mljet is located in the north-western part of the island and is famous for Big Lake and Small Lake. There is Isle of St. Mary in Big Lake, famous for St. Benedict convent which makes it a defense unit with a fort and remains of the roman buildings.
Rich vegetation has secured Mljet a title of a “green island”, famous around the world for its lakes. Mljet is attractive to speleology lovers, it is full of caves and pits. The most popular is Ulysses cave, it takes a 15 minute walk from Babino polje to the cave and it can be approached from the seaside.

- It is believed that famous Ulysses lived in a cave (Ulysses cave), where he was captured and kept as a prisoner for seven years by island nymph Calypso.
- National Park of Mljet is the oldest marine protected area in the Mediterranean.
